A few months ago, we launched Cloud Portal Release 3.0.0 with a refreshed UI and enhanced features. Now, we are excited to bring you the HPE Networking Instant On 3.1.0 update, with additional design improvements that make network management more streamlined, secure, and efficient than ever.
First, you will notice that the cloud web portal and mobile application have been rebranded. Our new name is HPE Networking Instant On, and the new name and color scheme are reflected within the app and the cloud portal. The cloud portal will have a new URL starting November 25th (https://portal.instant-on.hpe.com), so update your bookmarks! Here is a look at the new mobile app icon. The app will be listed under the alphabet "I" in the application list on your mobile device, previously under "A" :

Ease of use: simplified network view and management
Do you have a small networking team or lack in-house IT specialists? No worries - Instant On release 3.1.0 is here to make network management even easier with the following updates:
· More operational guiding insights: Network management is made easier with the addition of optimization recommendations in the health dashboard, an enhanced software update scheduler, and added alerts for additional network scrutiny
· Enhanced reporting and an option to export event logs
· Intuitive interface and improved flows: navigation flows remain intuitive and are augmented with a left menu to streamline navigation
· The software update scheduler now allows users to set an installation delay in addition to selecting a specific day and time
· Integrated online help provides more contextual assistance for quicker resolution, and it will be available in multiple languages
Scale: supporting your growth
Designed with simplicity and scalability at its core, Instant On release 3.1.0 makes it easy to expand your network without interrupting business operations. With the following features, you can confidently scale as you grow:
· Increase in number of devices from 50 to 125 devices per site
· When using an external captive portal server with a “walled garden” enabled, the allowed sites list is increased from 32 to 64 websites
· Additional export options for lists improves reporting for environments of all sizes
· Large networking management teams are now enabled with unlimited administrator accounts, and up to 25 admin users can be assigned to manage any site
· Doubled the number of “allow” and “block” clients in the cloud portal for a total of 256
Troubleshooting: easy problem-solving for a better user experience
Troubleshooting is a critical skill that enhances operational efficiency, improves user experience, reduces costs, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement within organizations. Release 3.1.0 helps troubleshoot and improve network operations with the following features:
· Event logs and alerts: significant event logs and more alerts have been added for better monitoring and troubleshooting, and to maintain network health
· Introduction of audit logs; enhanced visibility into configuration changes helps administrators identify when and by whom changes were made
Efficiency: automated intelligence boosts productivity
The HPE Networking Instant On Cloud Portal leverages automated intelligence to streamline ease of use, scalability, security, and troubleshooting, driving network productivity. With Instant On release 3.1.0, efficiency is significantly improved with these enhancements:
· Storm control mode, a feature from switch local management, has been added to the cloud management portal
· BPDU root guard, a feature from switch local management, has been added to the cloud management portal
Instant On 3.1.0, featuring an updated interface and user-requested enhancements, begins rolling out today, November 20th, 2024. Soon, all users will benefit from the features detailed in this blog.
All sites and device firmware will be upgraded through the standard Instant On progressive rollout process, unlocking features that require firmware version R3.1.0. If you have a scheduled maintenance window, you may choose to defer the update for up to 30 days to align with your operational needs.
