Discover the New Features and Enhancements in 3.2.0
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of software version 3.2.0, bringing a host of new features and improvements designed to enhance your experience. Here's a comprehensive overview of what's coming your way.
Maintenance Mode
One of the standout features in version 3.2.0 is the introduction of Maintenance Mode. Maintenance Mode is particularly useful during scheduled downtimes, updates, and troubleshooting sessions. Administrators can activate this mode to temporarily disable error notifications while keeping the rest of the network operational. This minimizes interruptions and ensures a seamless experience for users who rely on the network for daily tasks. Administrators can track the changes made during maintenance and identify any issues that arise.

Enable/Disable Radios
Our latest update also includes the ability to enable or disable Wi-Fi radios with ease. This feature provides greater control over network configurations, helping to optimize performance and manage connectivity more effectively. Whether you need to troubleshoot issues or adjust settings for specific scenarios, this functionality offers the flexibility you need.
Imagine you're facing intermittent connectivity issues in a specific area of your network. With the new enable/disable radios feature, you can easily disable certain radios to isolate and identify the problematic connections. Once diagnosed, you can re-enable the radios, ensuring minimal disruption to the overall network performance.
Additionally, this feature is particularly beneficial in environments with varying network demands. For instance, during peak hours, you might prioritize certain radios to manage the bandwidth more efficiently. Conversely, during off-peak times, you can disable some radios to conserve energy and reduce operational costs.

Port Isolation
Security and network management receive a significant boost with the addition of Port Isolation. This feature allows network administrators to isolate specific ports, preventing unauthorized communication between devices. By enhancing security measures at the port level, we aim to protect your data and ensure a more secure network environment.
Port Isolation is particularly useful in environments where sensitive information is transmitted, such as corporate networks or financial institutions. By segmenting the network into isolated sections, administrators can mitigate the risk of data breaches and limit the spread of potential threats. For example, if a device within an isolated port is compromised, the threat is contained and cannot easily propagate to other parts of the network.

And More!
In addition to these key features, version 3.2.0 brings a variety of other enhancements and optimizations. Responding directly to community feedback, we’ve added the ability to reset client or device names back to the default name and added the option to receive notifications when alerts clear, like a watchlist client disconnecting and reconnecting. Finally, we’ve included two new troubleshooting features - Cable Test for switches and Traceroute. These features, previously only available with local management, have been added to the cloud portal as part of our continuing efforts to add advanced switching capabilities to the mobile app and web portal.
All of these new features will be available during your selected update window starting the week of March 3rd. Notifications will be sent out via the Instant On mobile app and can also be seen on the cloud portal.
