With the upcoming release of Instant On Cloud Portal 3.3.4, managing your network just got easier and more efficient. The latest update introduces enhanced analytical features that allow administrators to track client activity even after disconnection. Additionally, blocking or watch-listing client devices can now be done with a streamlined selector, eliminating the need to navigate multiple client pages. These new capabilities simplify network monitoring and empower businesses to maintain better control over connected devices.
In response to feedback from installers and SMBs, the cloud portal will now retain client information for 24 hours after disconnecting. This means that if you’d like to check a report of network activity from BYOD laptops or employee phones, the information will remain available instead of disappearing when those devices go offline. You’ll be able to see these offline clients when selecting the “Clients” management page.

Admins can also edit client tags, change applied policies, and view application usage when the client device is offline, helping ensure you can manage your network outside the device’s normal connection hours.

These changes and updates will help administrators better manage guest and employee devices without the need to catch them when they are connected to the Instant On network. This also helps block rogue clients that may have connected to a network they were not intended for in the first place, adding a functional layer of security. Additionally, wired PoE clients will have their historical power draw saved for 24 hours to help with troubleshooting anomalous power events.
Finally, we have added advanced filtering to the client List search. Administrators can search not only for client names but also for any affiliated tags they may have. Many other filters can be used, like selecting specific wired or wireless networks, Device health, or device state.

For additional information, please view the FAQ here. You can also find steps on how to set up these features by viewing the Install and Deployment guide here. We expect software availability to be rolled out at the end of March. This is a change to the cloud management software, and no device firmware will need to be updated.
