Hello,
I have an Aruba 1930 Instant ON with software version 2.7.0
Problem: Multicast traffic is flooded to all switch ports.
Setup:
On switch port 1 I have incoming multicast traffic from a server (239.1.1.n where n is 1 - 9). It is also a igmp querier sitting here.
On port 2 I have a client listening/join a specific multicast group (239.1.1.1)
On port 3 I have my laptop connected running wireshark.
The result is that on port 3 (laptop with wireshark) I receive all multicast groups coming in on port 1 ( = flooding). The expected result is that my laptop shall not receive any multicast because it has not joined any of them.
The switch configuraion is default. The only thing I have changed is to enable the global IGMP Snooping function and I have also enabled it on the VLAN.
When I look in the "IGMP Snooping Multicast Router Interface Configuration" page it says "Dynamic: 1". I guess this is good because this is the port where the multicast comes in. And when I look on the Multicast Forward Database" page it also looks good. Here I see that the group address (239.1.1.1) is forwarded to port 2 (where the client is sitting).
So the status pages looks good but on my laptop+wireshark I can see that the multicast traffic is flooding.
Any suggestions what do to?
Thanks
