Seeing a weird issue. This only happens with newer HP printers connected to Instant On switches.
The printer will lose connectivity such that clients on the same subnet / VLAN cannot access the printer. For example, a Windows PC connected to the same subnet on the same switch cannot ping the printer.
However, clients on remote subnets can access the printer through routing. For example, a remote PC connected to VPN can access the printer.
I'm 99% sure this issue is related to Instant On switches as I don't see the issue at other sites using different switch vendors, and the issue only happens locally. So it must be something to do with the switch?
ARP tables on the clients look OK.
The issue can sometimes be resolved by disabling and re-enabling the switch port the printer is connected to, or power cycling the switch. Chaning the printer temporarily to another IP, then reverting to the original IP fixes the issue 100% of the time.
Anyone else seen this?
