I have a few Aruba Instant 1960 switches. These are stacked and have several 10ports available. I would like to connect to a 2.5G provided through building infrastructure. I believe their switch is a Cisco 9300UXM with 2.5G ports. When I connect the 10G BaseT port on the Aruba 1960 to this port it connects and appears to work. I have tested speed to be a little over 2G.
Should I expect any problems? Under heavy traffic will the switch flood the port thinking it is 10G causing some sort of error? I have a few desktops with 2.5G. If I would connect them to the 1960 10G I have the same questions. I tested one of them and it appears to work.
The 1960 specification includes 1G and 10G without the multi-gig options. I am very happy with the switches just wondering if I can get more out of them.
