Issue with Local Stacking on Aruba Instant On 1960 – Devices on Second Switch Not Getting Network Access

    Hello,

I have a setup with two Aruba Instant On 1960 switches connected via UTP cable, configured in Local Stacking mode. The stacking is showing as active, and both units are synced. The uplink to the firewall (gateway) is connected to Switch 1, and all devices connected to Switch 1 are working fine.

However, devices connected to Switch 2 (the stack member) are not receiving IP addresses, not communicating with the firewall, and not appearing in the ARP table.

    Additional Info:

Stacking cable: standard UTP (RJ45) at 10G speed.

Stacking mode: Local Stacking via Web UI.

Firmware: Up to date on both switches.

VLANs are configured correctly and identical across both switches.

The issue persists even after rebooting the switches.

It seems like Switch 2 is not properly forwarding traffic to Switch 1 or the firewall.

Any suggestions or ideas on what might be wrong with this setup?

    Thanks in advance.

Which Switch models are you using for the stack?

Why do you have Hybrid Stack enabled? I would disable it (depending the models, you are using).

Why do you give Conductor Unit ID 1 but stick to auto with the Backup Switch? I would give it Unit ID 2

Maybe also share some screenshots from the Backup Switch.
