Nearly no network connection after Update to 3.0.0

  • 1.  Nearly no network connection after Update to 3.0.0

    Posted 07-26-2024 02:52 AM

I updated to Version 3.0.0 today.

After the update everything seemed to be fine for a short while.

A few seconds later I did have nearly nor network connection.

All Instant On Devices are sporadically Online and Offline.

Within my Internal Network I don't have a Network Connection at all and can't reach the Devices or the Router.

I'm using Switches and APs from Instant On.

When I restart my Main Switch, everything seems to be working fine for a few seconds. After that the issues start again.

Support told me that this was already reporter to Engineering at it is a Problem with the Server.

Anyone also updated to Version 3.0.0 and does have similar issues?

I have one site as well going offline constantly.

**Ended up being an ISP issue at same time as my upgrade**

In my case one of the APs seems to have created something similar to a Loop.

I had no Network Connectivity internal at all.

After disconnecting this AP and connecting it again everything is working fine again.

We have one site with the same symptoms
Out of 10 updated sites only one has this issue

Anyone with a solution other than physically going to the site and reboot the devices ?

Restarting the switches helped me top get AP's back online (when powered by Aruba Switches providing POE)

    HI,

Device Firmware upgrade will happen only based on the SW maintenance schedule configured on the portal.

BY default this has been configured with Sunday 3 am to reduce the downtime during the upgrade.

Even though the cloud portal is upgraded to 3.0 Release, individual device Firmware will happen based on the schedule and can be postponed by user aswell.

You need to have this information FIRST and only then the devices will upgrade at the forecasted time:

Maybe a stupid question - but still asking:

Did anyone of you guys affected reset your AP's (v3.0) to factory defaults (by removing them from inventory) and re-add them to the site?

    Does this help?

Started having issues as of 3 days, as soon as I upgraded to 3.0.0. I have multiple sites, all having similar issues. Mostly iPhones and MacOS. Didn't see Windows or other devices affected yet. I hope HPE takes a look at and fixes this soon.

I'm having this same issue. I have 1 in production and its done the same thing you're having here. I had more than 500 alerts for it going offline last month alone.

I am trying to put in a new device and while updating the firmware, it apparently bricked out and isn't working now past pulling an IP address. HP needs to stop pushing the 3.0 update ASAP.

I too am having major issues after the update. Have one site with a mix of 23 switches and APs and only 1 switch and 5 APs are back online. Site users are reporting sporadic wifi connectivity. I restarted the one online switch via the app but it has not made a difference. This is a major headache. Please advise.

currently my update is scheduled for 28/8, why is there no official update available from HPE after these remarks?

Also no later date can be selected for the update for my clients but some info would be helpfull of what will happen or what we must do as a service for them

It is not the switch, it is the AP. When i restart my AP at home then the WIFI connection works again.

Nevertheless it seems to be a release which is buggy and should not have been released in a state like that.

Same here, lots of complaints from the family. I upgraded last weekend and since then all Apple mobile devices (iPhones and iPads) are regularly losing connection and then end up showing the password is incorrect when reconnecting. MacBooks are ok so far. Some other non-Apple devices also seem to have intermittent issues.

A restart of the Apple devices works temporarily, but switching the private address on or off does the trick as well. At least it's somewhat less annoying.

Amazing that there is no downgrade option or a way to manually install older firmware. I only recently replace my old network devices by Instant On as I wanted something simpler, but I'm starting to regret that now as I've never seen issues like this with the other brand.

This needs a resolution or workaround asap.

Please fix this issue or help us with a solution!

    In a newly deployed network, with a 1830 24G 12p Class 4 PoE 2SFP 195W + 6 AP22 switch we are having many connection problems running on 3.0.0.1

At 5ghz the network works, although it causes certain problems with roaming between APs
In 2.4ghz there are continuous disconnections, and the transfer rate drops to 0.01mb/s or is cut off after a few seconds.
It is impossible to use on Android and Apple clients. In Windows client it works better, but it is not fluid.

I've tried isolating each item, restarting, deleting and adding again...nothing works. It is clear that it is a software problem, since the problem is reproduced in the different APs even when they are isolated.

    Hello,

we have faced this same exact issue of:  In 2.4ghz there are continuous disconnections, and the transfer rate drops to 0.01mb/s or is cut off after a few seconds.

we have network of 1 48PoE Switch 1930 and 19 AP22 on the latest release v3.0.0.1.

We have tried all possible scenarios, but the data rate on the 2.4 seems to drop massively between the AP and the client.

Update to 3.0.0.2 didn't help at all...    Same problems, 2.4Ghz wireless is still unusable and 5Ghz poor performance and disruptions.

We have a domestic TP-Link solution in parallel  which outperforms our Arubas (They were to be replaced by the Arubas Ap22, but since August it was impossible to switch between systems)

If HP Aruba doesn't provide a solution soon, we will switch to Unifi deffinitely. For us, as worriing are the software bugs as the sluggish response from HP Aruba.

He probado a aislar cada elemento, reiniciar, eliminar y volver a agregar... nada funciona. Está claro que es un problema de software, ya que el problema se reproduce en los distintos AP aún estando aislados.

¿Se sabe si habrá una nueva actualización en breve?

    Saludos

My issues seems to be disappeared since 2a3 weeks (before the 3.0.0.2 release). What's changed?

The HP support asked me to create a Test wifi network, the only difference with the original networks is that it is WPA2 Personal (and not WPA2+3 Personal). The other thing changed is the transmit power of 5GHz, the minimum is set to a higher value: (I'm not sure if 2.4GHz is also changed)

I think that the transmit power change did the trick. No idea why.... The only other thing is the creation of the test network (which was only used by a few people), I do not see how this could solve the issue. Or, perhaps the WPA2 setting triggers something.

Today I have removed the test network, we will see...

After installing v3.0.0.1 the problems were solved for me - at least for several weeks. Today they came back. „Please enter the password", connection loss and high latency to the gateway. I had to restart all Access Points (all AP22) several times to get things working again. There must be issues left in the current firmware.

I don't expect enterprise support for an SBM/prosumer product line, but no response at all is very sobering. There have been problems with the current firmware (3.0.0.x) for several weeks now and the progress of troubleshooting seems to have a very low priority. I'm starting to get annoyed that I'm now using Aruba Instant On at 7 locations.

Things were slightly better for me after the v3.0.0.1 patch, but I still experience flaky AP connectivity, especially AP-AP via mesh, and also experiencing the sudden connection drop on multiple Android devices where the SSID password is suddenly incorrect, even though nothing changed. I can workaround this usually by forgetting the connection and the re-adding.

Come on HP - give us a rollback option as others have suggested!

I don't have active support, and as someone else suggested, when I try online chat it tells me 0 in the queue but doesn't connect me.

My brother does also habe Apple Devices and we do have several Customers who use Aruba Instant On Devices.

None of the customers reached out to us that they do habe any problems.

Maybe the problem is specific to certain Hardware and not a General problem?
