I've been using my Aruba Instant On SG2505P Gateway for over two months and it has been working fine.
The Issue: Today I went into the portal to configure a backup line and noticed my primary WAN is listed as "Offline."
-
Log info: The logs say it has been "offline" since 11/15/2025, 3:13 AM (CET).
-
Reality: My entire network is online and stable.
-
Physical check: All lights on the SG2505P are blinking normally.
Troubleshooting: I power cycled the device. After the reboot, the portal still shows the WAN as "Offline," even though the internet is working perfectly.
My Setup:
-
Gateway: SG2505P (Firmware 3.3.0.0)
-
WAN: 2Gbit Fibre connection -> Connected to Port 5 (2.5GbE WAN)
-
LAN Connection: I am connecting my switch to Port 3 of the SG2505P
-
Switch: Aruba 1930 24G PoE 4SFP+
-
Uplink: I am using a 10GBASE-T Copper SFP+ module in the switch, connected via Cat6 cable to the Gateway
-
APs: 8x Access Points (Mix of AP22, AP11D, AP11, AP27)
My Questions:
-
Failover Risk: Since the portal thinks the WAN is "Offline," will the Failover functionality actually work if I add a backup line? (I am worried it will incorrectly force a failover immediately).
-
Port Speed: I noticed the SG2505P datasheets say Port 4 is the 2.5GbE LAN port, but I am currently using Port 3. Should I move my switch uplink to Port 4 to get the full 2.5Gbps throughput, or is Port 3 also multi-gig?
-
Reporting Bug: Is the "Offline" status a known visual bug in 3.3.0.0, and is there a way to clear it without a factory reset?
Thanks!
