    I've been using my Aruba Instant On SG2505P Gateway for over two months and it has been working fine.

    The Issue: Today I went into the portal to configure a backup line and noticed my primary WAN is listed as "Offline."

    • Log info: The logs say it has been "offline" since 11/15/2025, 3:13 AM (CET).

    • Reality: My entire network is online and stable.

    • Physical check: All lights on the SG2505P are blinking normally.

    Troubleshooting: I power cycled the device. After the reboot, the portal still shows the WAN as "Offline," even though the internet is working perfectly.

    My Setup:

    • Gateway: SG2505P (Firmware 3.3.0.0)

    • WAN: 2Gbit Fibre connection -> Connected to Port 5 (2.5GbE WAN)

    • LAN Connection: I am connecting my switch to Port 3 of the SG2505P

    • Switch: Aruba 1930 24G PoE 4SFP+

    • Uplink: I am using a 10GBASE-T Copper SFP+ module in the switch, connected via Cat6 cable to the Gateway

    • APs: 8x Access Points (Mix of AP22, AP11D, AP11, AP27)

    My Questions:

    1. Failover Risk: Since the portal thinks the WAN is "Offline," will the Failover functionality actually work if I add a backup line? (I am worried it will incorrectly force a failover immediately).

    2. Port Speed: I noticed the SG2505P datasheets say Port 4 is the 2.5GbE LAN port, but I am currently using Port 3. Should I move my switch uplink to Port 4 to get the full 2.5Gbps throughput, or is Port 3 also multi-gig?

    3. Reporting Bug: Is the "Offline" status a known visual bug in 3.3.0.0, and is there a way to clear it without a factory reset?

    Hello Haiko,

    I have seen the same "Device Offline" behaviour on a customer switching and wireless network.

    After we restarted ALL the switches the problem "went away" but not before we had broadcast storms from the switching taking down our 3rd party firewall.

    I am a bit suspicious of the failure of the switching to stop any broadcast storm. Have you tried rebooting all your downstream switching???

    I logged a ticket but the response was "it works better when setup for local management".

    Not what I wanted to hear.
