If you are just using VLAN the main difference will be the port configuration.
1930 has 4 SFP
+ ports on the 24/48 port models, while 1830 has only 2 SFP (24p) or 4 SFP (48p), no 10G on 1830.
On 1930 all ports are PoE, 1830 only half of the ports are PoE, the other ports are just plain gigabit.
8 port models: 1930 has 2 SFP uplinks (no + here, bummer), 1830 has no SFP. 1830 8G can be powered over PoE.
