I managed to get this working on my end but ended up moving to RADIUS.
There is a bit of groundwork required for the RADIUS server, but it works more consistently than this

Subject: Guest Portal Acknowledgement?
The guest portal should return "Aruba.InstantOn.Acknowledge" as a string to allow access. I have done this, but what happens, when the string is returned, it is displayed in the browser itself instead of redirecting it to redirection url and providing internet access. After sometime, the browser closes and internet access is allowed. Or, else if i try to re-authenticate, the browser closes and authentication is granted. But not instantly. Can anyone tell the correct way to handle this, to enhance the user experience?

Do you mean render on the page?

Please refer to the user guide Aruba Instant On 2.8 user manual guide page 97. The splash page should be designed to return this pre-defined string "Aruba.InstantOn.Acknowledge" back to the AP, and then the guest user will be allowed to access the internet.

Subject: Guest Portal Acknowledgement?
I've been playing around with Guest Portals and noticed the new "Guest Portal Acknowledgement" option.
I can't find any documentation on how to implement this properly. I can get the guest to redirect to the portal, but what do I need to post back to the device / ION?
Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
