  • 1.  I just lost my switch

    I just bought this switch from a shop and used it for less than a week and the switch will not power up.

    There were other network devices in same rack but the switch just went dead.

    Please how do I troubleshoot this.

    This is a POE switch with just 3 poe devices connected

    Sounds like it just died....   I would test it the same way I would test anything the plugs in to a wall; move it to another location and see if it turns on.  If not it is a warrantee issue.  The good news is I think these have a lifetime HW warrantee as long as you got it from and authorized HPE partner.  I would also look at your power protection to see if you have an issue there,  I have found this hardware to be VERY reliable.

    I have many Instant ON switches around and, as already written, are very reliable. Not many were replaced for HW failures. 

    Check the power cable and connections. Sometimes plug can slip from switch if it is not completely inserted into receptacle. 

    Try with different power outlet. 

    If nothing works, just open the case and switch will be replaced, 

    Limited lifetime warranty is for original owner. It does not apply for second hand switches.
