I have this setup with a client, it's not ideal but sometimes no other option is possible and didn't got any bad feedback

OK so my desired layout is possible ? Its just we may move the AP11 further away which I am sure will make the wired AP27 unreachable. So in that case the AP11D will be able to reach the mesh AP27 only as per my desired diagram. Being two hops I guess this will result in a significant performance decrease though?

In an Instant mesh network, the maximum hop count is two nodes (point > point > portal) so your design looks good but i assume when AP11 can see the portal AP why would it take/add another hop. I don't think you can force this unless someone else has an idea

See attached, as you can see we have 2xAP27 providing point to point link , AP11D with downlink to switch.
Since there is double brick wall between them you would expect that AP11D would hop from the AP27 mesh AP as I understand 2 mesh hops is supported.
Is there any way to force the AP11D to mesh via the AP27 mesh AP?
At this point the AP27 mesh is serving no purpose !!
For sure during adverse weather the AP27 wired AP signal could be impaired . Will the AP11D ever switch over if signal to AP27 wired AP becomes weak ?
Please review both images and advise accordingly
Thanks in advance !
