Hi Mads.
This would be my suggestion also.
AP11D can act as a simple router if you connect it correctly. Eth0 to modem and one other port (eth1-4) to a switch. And it need to be added to the site as a router (this is a site property). As I wrote, AP11D is very small platform and has some limitations regarding routing and thruput.
If you use AP11D as normal AP it will also act as switch so you can connect other devices on the eth1-4 ports.

Hi Gorazd,
Thanks again for your help and links.
I obviously haven't read the manual thoroughly. :-) I have connected my APs via cable and I can see that it should be set up via mesh - I think that might be why the problem occurs. I definitely don't want to set up the network via mesh network, so it will be with an internet router (either MikroTik or the one from the ISP) and the three AP22. I had hoped to be able to use the AP11D as a router, but I have more confidence in a wired solution than a mesh network.
Thanks again.

Hi Mads.
You need to onboard AP11D as a router. Here you can find all documentation about InstantON deployments and usage. And here you can find documentation about AP deployment modes
When AP11D is deployed as a router, it will act as DHCP server on LAN side and NAT on WAN side. You will only need one IP address for the whole netwotk.ž
The other option is to reconfigure your modem to act as a router and provide DHCP and NAT function on LAN side. In many deployments this is the preferred configuration and AP11D has limited router-like capabilities and throughput.

Hi Gorazd and everyone,
I recently opened a TAC and got my AP11D replaced, which is now working smoothly-great news! I was able to set up the PPPoE WAN without any issues, and my internet connection is up and running.
However, I'm running into a problem when I try to onboard an AP22:
• Issue Details:
• After adding an AP22 and rebooting the AP11D, the AP11D stops working again.
• I receive a message indicating that more than one AP is connected and that I need to remove the extra APs because the modem only allows one device connection. See screenshot.
My Question:
Is it possible to use the AP11D as a router and connect three AP22s to it without causing conflicts with the modem? If so, how can I set this up to ensure all APs work seamlessly together?
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Mads

Hi Mads.
This behavior is not normal. I would open the TAC case and get AP replaced. AP settings need to persist over reboots or power cycle. Only if you deliberately or by accident reset config to factory default it would be lost.
AP22D would be much better performing platform.

Hi both of you,
Thank you very much!
I have set it to router mode and followed Gorazd's link. I can now sometimes see the PPPoE webpage and set it up with the password, username, and tagged VLAN. When I apply the settings, the router reboots, but it often forgets the password. I have managed to get it up and running a few times with the correct PPPoE configuration and a working internet connection. However, when I reboot it, it loses the settings and goes into "setup" mode, publishing the Wi-Fi again for PPPoE configuration. Sometimes I can reach the webserver, but often I can't. I have attached a screenshot.
I'm considering getting an AP22D, but maybe the problem will be the same. I have a MikroTik router, which is working without any problems. I would like to have everything on the Aruba network, but the AP11D is working really poorly!
Do you have any suggestions? :-)
Thanks!
Best regards,
Mads

You should go to https://portal.instant-on.hpe.com
PPOE connection is available when AP11D is configured in rotuer mode. https://instant-on.hpe.com/techdocs/en/content/get-started/ap-conf-mode.htm

Hi.
Hope someone can help.
I have tried to setup my AP11D with PPPOE connection (WAN). I can't reach the webserver on https://connect.instant-on.hpe.com - it's never loading the webpage. I can connect to the WIFI that the AP11D is publishing. I have firmware 3.1, but I have also tried with https://connect.arubainstanton.com, and tried to connect with my PC (Edge and Firefox), MacBook Pro and Phone, but with no luck. I have tried to reset the AP11D several times, but no luck to get the the PPPOE setup page.
Any good suggestions that could solve it? :-)
Thanks.
