HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG1004 [SKU:S0G33A]

SUMMARY

HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateways have been shipping worldwide since the launch in May 2025. A very small batch of 115 Instant On Secure Gateway SG1004 model [SKU:S0G33A] are reportedly unable to authenticate and hence fail to connect/onboard to the Instant On Cloud Management Portal.

Root cause investigation indicated a programming error of the Trusted Port Module (TPM) in the affected units. Corrective measures have been implemented to prevent such errors from recurring. 

A hardware replacement is needed to resolve this issue.

·         HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG1004 [SKU: S0G33A]

o   Serial numbers range: VN56M360xx

PRODUCTS NOT AFFECTED

·         HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG2505P [SKU:S0G34A]

·         HPE Networking Instant On Access Points – All models.

·         HPE Networking Instant On Switches – All models.

·         HPE Networking Instant On Transceivers – All models.

SYMPTOMS

    An affected HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG1004 will be unable to authenticate and connect to the Instant On Cloud Management Portal.

    By plugging a laptop in one of the LAN ports, you can access the local WebUI of the gateway (on IP address 172.30.1.1) and note the following under Portal Connectivity (see screenshot below)

̶     “Device onboarding status” shows “Error”, and

̶     “Last onboarding message” shows “Unexpected HTTP status code ‘400’ received”

RESOLUTION

Customers who have received an HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway SG1004 unit that is unable to connect to the Instant On Cloud Management Portal and has a serial number in the affected serial numbers range are advised to open a RMA request through the HPE Networking Support Portal (NSP).

This Support Advisory will be posted on the HPE Networking Support Portal under “Notifications à Products” section and may be revised as applicable. Kindly ensure to check again for further updates.
