Yes, this switch (JL810A) can be powered over POE. I bought one but then needed to power some POE devices which I did not anticipate, and replaced it with the next model up (JL811A), that has 4 POE ports and does not support being powered over POE. I mistakenly thought that an extra POE injector I had laying around would take up less space than the device's power brick. I don't know what I was thinking.

I just took it out of the closet and plugged it into the POE port of it's aforementioned big brother (JL811A). I will send proof later today.

Keep in mind that the device only has 1 POE port. If it's used to power the switch, all that remain are non-POE ports.

The HP documentation is correct.

Here ya go. 5 Pics. #5 has a picture of the back of the switch. POE Input: 37-57V @ .35 A. I think that's class 4 POE. In any event, the JL811A provides enough POE power for it. This is the second lowest POE switch in the AIO product line.
