Hi,
I have a similar question. There is a problem with one of the members ID=1 (4 members stack)
Looking at the documentation, after poweroff member ID=1, member with ID=2 will take over the role of Condutor (the configuration will be on it). After preparing a new member (setting the interfaces for stack and set ID=1) and connecting it to the stack (do I understand correctly that on the poweredon new member We should connect stack cables?), the new member with ID=1 should download the configuration from the stack and should become new Condutor.
Has he already done this?
I'm bit worried that the new member with ID=1 override the "empty" configuration to the stack, instead of get configuration from it...
thx for any suggestion.
Best Regards
Rafal

Hi,
firstly configuration is saved on the conductor which is Unit ID1 which is active.
Since Unit ID 2 is down, backup conductor should be unit ID3 now.
See that the topology is chain ( unit id 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4)
Your flow is correct, however if its easier better to set the unit IDs set manually on the 3 switches before replacing so that its consistent for ever instead of unit IDs being auto.
