Any updates on the firmware issues affecting 1960s switch users?

Interesting. I think I got bit by this. 2 Month old cloud managed SOF35A. I received an alert that it was offline. It didn't respond to a local ping, but otherwise was passing traffic fine. All downstream devices were functioning as expected. Upstream was just my firewall (not HPE AIO). Since cloud management thought it was offline, the restart option wasn't exposed. The device's front buttons had no effect. Paperclip in the reset pinhole had no effect. I ended up pulling the power cord.

Before pulling the power cord I went to open a support case so that Support could look at the logs but I no longer have the ability to open support cases online. It's too much of a hassle calling in so after a few days I pulled the power cord.

Knock on wood, this has only happened once. It might be dependent on load.

After the 1960 device is connected to the cloud, it is displayed as offline. However, when the device is powered off and then turned back on, it appears to display normally.

Also 1930s have this problem. I am so fed w/ support and those bugs I am seriously considering paying some extra and move to Fortigate before those kind of bugs destroys our network like bull in a china shop.

Those problems are making this cloud management a bad joke and fully fledged parody even to remote management web templates. Also, they are functioning the same, considering the fact those switches are permanently offline in the mgmt.

I'm unclear from the Reddit thread if this issue is present with locally managed switches. However I am considering reconfiguring my switches to local management so that I can view logs and have full control over upgrades. I just don't find the cloud UI all that useful anymore.

I need an update from Instant On for this too.  I got the email last Friday talking about the downgrade back to 3.3.0 and I have a 1960 switch that was on 3.3.2 and was downgraded back to 3.3.0.  Will they release a 3.3.3, and is there a timeline for this?

    Hi Brad,

The work for Release 3.3.3 is in process, but we do not have an updated timeframe for the release, as the team is working to resolve the issues with the 1960 Switch Series. The downgrade to 3.3.0 is our current solution. When we post our usual blogs about the software updates, we will be sure to include a status update to the 1960 Switch Series issues.

@SO93 Can you point us to the public acknowledgement of this issue?

    I see that my S0F35A 1960 8p Gigabit CL4 4p SR2.5G CL6 PoE 2p 10GBT 2p SFP+ 480W switch was downgraded to version 3.3.0.0 last night.

    My JL813A 1830 24p Gigabit CL4 PoE 2p SFP 195W switch is at Version 3.3.2.0.

There is an announcement on the home page, posted 14 days ago, that includes the information and updates on the current point of resolution. You can find all announcements here: https://community.instant-on.hpe.com/browse/announcements

The 1830 Switch Series was not impacted by the 3.3.2 software update and was not rolled back.

I am in limbo with three 1960s.  I want them all to be cloud managed on the same firmware to set up a logical switch stack.  During setup will they pull the bad 3.3.2, or are 1960s currently pulling 3.3.0?  Is there an ETA on a fixed 3.3.2?

Hi Brad, when you onboard the switches for the first time, the 1960s will download the stable 3.3.0 firmware.
